Iris Ellen (Combs) Bartley, 103, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 8th, at NHC in Glasgow, KY.
Iris Ellen was born in Tompkinsville, KY on December 2, 1919, a daughter of the late Ada (Grinestaff) and Joshua Combs.
On January 24, 1942, she married Morris Bartley. Morris preceded her in death on November 30, 1992.
She worked as a beautician for many years. She was a faithful long time member at Tompkinsville Baptist Church. Iris Ellen will be remembered for her musical talents and love for the Lord and her family.
Iris Ellen is survived by a daughter, Barbara Rich, of Lafayette, TN; and three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Brenda Bartley, of Glasgow, KY; David and Brenda Bartley, of Tompkinsville, KY and Darrell and Brenda Bartley, of Tompkinsville, KY; 12 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren and was expecting another.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Eurene Little, Zelma Nell Dodson, Inell Carter, Alene D'alterio, Fyrl Combs and Floyd Combs.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11th at Tompkinsville First Baptist Church, with Bro. John Jordan officiating. Burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Friday, March 10, 5-8 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, and Saturday, March 11 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Tompkinsville First Baptist Church.
