IRIS BURNS

Iris Greer Burns, 88, of Westminster, South Carolina, wife of the late Homer "Buck" Burns Jr., passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at NHC Healthcare in Greenville.

Born August 14, 1937, in South Union, SC, she was the daughter of the late Coy and Ruth Glass Greer.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Standridge (Connie) of North Carolina; step-sons, Doug Burns (Donna), Mike Burns (Robin), and Don Burns (Deanna); brother, Larry Greer; and sisters, Jane Barnes and Sandra Smith. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Drew Standridge, Mason Standridge (Felicity), Katie Davis (Jeff), Alex Boatwright, Josh Burns, Michael Burns, Joey Burns, Jared Burns, Hunter Vining, and many beloved great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Mickey Standridge (survived by wife, Skyla), and her siblings, Everett Greer, Charles Greer, Dean Greer, Dorothy Haley, Edna Harbin, Josephine Bennett, Mary Crocker and Alma Jeanette Perry.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00–2:00 p.m. at Sandifer Funeral Home.

Iris will be remembered most for her caring and giving nature and her cooking ability, especially her cakes, corn and dressing. She took great pride in her flower garden that she kept very beautiful. Iris retired from Kendall Company in Seneca after many dedicated years. She was also a member of the Westminster Eastern Star.
