I remember my mom and dad telling me the story about when I was born. Iris called my dad (John Sullivan) and said, "Well, what are you going to name her?" My dad said they didn't quite know yet. Then Iris said, "How about Iris Gertrude?" (my mom's name). So my Dad said, "We had chickens on the farm with better names than that!"

Sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. When I think of Iris I remember many pleasant times in Pine River. The town will not be the same with out her.

What a sad time for all of us, the
last Engel has left us. Pretty big shoes to fill from that generation. After talking to so many cousins in the last 2 weeks, it's evident the
Engel family tradition will carry on
forever. My deepest sympathy to
