Iris Garcia, 64, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully Monday, August 16, 2021,at her home in Charlotte after several months of illness.
Iris was born January 4, 1957, in El Progreso, Yoro (Honduras), eldest daughter to the late Adrian Garcia and the late Ernestina Escobar.
She is survived by her husband, Mario Alfredo Gallegos of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Iris Ivette (Rony Padilla) Gallegos of Charlotte, NC; sons, Mario Roberto (Judith) Gallegos, of Concord,
NC, and Ramon Luis (Cristina) Gallegos of Queens, NY; granddaughter, Isabella Gallegos; and grandsons, Anthony Gallegos, Andres Padilla, Mario Elias Gallegos, Leonard Gallegos.
She will always be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her three children and grandmother to her five beautiful grandchildren. She was characterized by her compassion for others. She was sincere, respectful, friendly and above all a brave woman that loved to share her blessings with everyone she came across. We take joy in knowing that she is now resting in a privileged place. She was loved by many and will continue to be loved by all those of us who had the joy of meeting her.
The family will receive friends and family from Honduras, New York, and Philadelphia among other places. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Friday, August 20, 2021,
at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 12:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg in Harrisburg officiated by Deacon Luis Flores. Burial will
follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Harrisburg at 12015 University City Blvd., Charlotte.

Una esposa, madre, abuela, amorosa y entregada a su familia en cuerpo y alma. La recordaremos también como una hermana, tía y amiga bondadosa que estaba siempre dispuesta a dar la mano por el don de servicio que siempre la caracterizó. Velaba siempre por el bien de todos aquellos que tuvimos la bendición de conocerla y quererla. Una mujer de temperamento fuerte pero siempre valiente y luchadora aun hasta su ultimo suspiro. Tomamos consuelo en saber que Dios la tiene hoy en un lugar privilegiado. Fue, es, y será siempre muy amada por todos los que tuvimos el privilegio de haberla conocida.
Recibiremos familiares y amistades de Honduras, Nueva York, y Filadelfia entre otros lugares. La visitación será este viernes 20 de agosto 2021 entre 6:00 y 9:00PM en Hartsell Funeral Home de Harrisburg. El servicio fúnebre será el sábado a las 12PM en Hartsell Funeral Home de Harrisburg y será oficiado por el Diácono Luis Flores. En seguida será el sepelio en Carolina Memorial Park de Harrisburg localizado en el 12015 University City Blvd., Charlotte.
