Iris M. Handschuh

Iris M. Handschuh (Manogue), formerly of Hatboro, passed away on October 18, 2016 at her home in Harleysville. She was 88. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles W. Handschuh, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. She was born in Ambler, PA, the daughter of the late John and Mary Manogue. Iris graduated from Ambler High School and then later married Charles and became a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening, dancing, playing cards and bingo. She also had a great appreciation for art and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home. She will be remembered as a kind and gentle woman and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Iris is survived by two daughters, Gail Katzbeck and her husband John of Coopersburg, and Kathleen "Katie" Christie and her husband, Kurt of Harleysville; four grandchildren, Michael Zimmermann (Dawn Myers) and Christopher Zimmermann (Christina) and Lauren and Matthew Christie; and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Alyssa Zimmermann. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles and their son, Charles, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday after 9:30 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Rd., Hatboro and to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Her interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre in Cheltenham.
