John Csakany Obituary
John James Csakany, passed away on January 2, 2024, in Indianapolis. He was born on December 13, 1942, in South Bend, Indiana. John lived a remarkable life filled with service, love, and dedication to his family and community.
John's career was marked by commitment and compassion. He served as a Eucharistic Minister to shut-ins at Christ the King Catholic Church, bringing comfort and solace to those who needed it most. He spent 28 years at NCR (National Cash Register) and over 20 years working for the Indianapolis Star. Even after retirement, John continued to work at International Parts for over 10 years, showcasing his strong work ethic and dedication.
Family was at the center of John's life. He cherished spending time with his loved ones and will always be remembered for making his famous Pepaw’s noodles that brought everyone around the table together. His kindness, love, and welcoming nature touched the hearts of all who knew him.
John's education laid the foundation for his future successes. He attended Our Lady of Hungary grade school before graduating from Washington High School in South Bend.
John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His military service demonstrated his unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle Mullen; grandson, Eli James Mullen; sister, Maryann Csakany. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Farkas Csakany; Father, Joseph Csakany; Mother, Anna Csakany; brother, Richard Csakany.
The memory of John James Csakany will be honored through commemorative services. The visitation will take place on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan- Broad Ripple, located at 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, at 5884 Crittenden Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220. Burial will be held in St. Jospeh Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana.
John's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the positive impact he made on the lives of others.
