With heavy hearts and with a deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Iris Sue Waddle. On July 8th, 2025, Iris went home into the presence of our Savior, Jesus Christ, where she will have everlasting peace.
Born on August 16th, 1951 Iris devoted her life to walking faithfully with God, loving her family and cherishing the simple joys of creation. Her love for flowers, gardens and the outdoors was only surpassed by her boundless devotion to those around her.
She was the cherished wife of Curtis Waddle, and a devoted mother to Balinda Genis (Ken), Joseph Arrington (Tammie), Jasen Arrington (Christine), and Joshua Waddle. Iris was a proud grandmother to Justin Arrington, Cecily Genis (Jenny), Jessica Clark (Nate), Haley Arrington, Joshua Waddle, Jonathan Waddle and Jaden Arrington. She was a loving sister to Dave Toney, Charlie Toney (Carolyn), Diana Hooser, James Toney and Evelyn Butash (Mark). Iris was also a wonderful great-grandmother of 7 and an aunt to many.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents Alice L. Toney and Charley C. Toney; siblings Diana Hooser and James Toney, and her son Joseph Arrington.
Iris's faith was the cornerstone of her life. A cornerstone she instilled in her entire family. She lived out her beliefs with grace, embodying the words of Psalm 91: "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust".
Her legacy of kindness and unwavering trust in God will continue to bloom in the lives of those she touched - like the gardens she tended with such care.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 26th, 2025 at 2PM, at the home of Balinda and Kenny.
We rejoice in the knowledge that Iris now walks in the gardens of Heaven, held by the loving hands of her Creator.
