Irma D. Kahle
KALIDA – Irma D. Kahle, 89, of Kalida, passed away at 2:11 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026. She was born January 20, 1936, in Kalida to the late Lawrence and Loretta (Quinn) Unverferth. On May 30, 1956, she married Ron Kahle, Sr., he survives in Kalida.
Irma is also survived by three children: Linda Remlinger, Bruce (Linda) Kahle and Sheryl (Steve) Krouse, all of Kalida; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren with one on the way; and two sisters: Ruth Ann Horstman of Cloverdale, and Julie Selhorst of Kalida.
She is preceded in death by a son, Ron “JR” Kahle, Jr.; siblings: Urban (Helen) Unverferth, Toots (Smitty) Smith, Virgil (Virginia) Unverferth, Richard (Gladys) Unverferth, Jiggs (Helen) Unverferth, and Mary Edith (Kenny) Winkle; two brothers-in-law, Bob Horstman and Herk Selhorst.
Irma was member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida, and the Altar Rosary Society. She loved her faith and had a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin and the Rosary. Irma was also a member of the Lima Elks and Moose Lodge. She was an avid golfer and had been a club champion at Country Acres, Kalida, where she had a hole-in-one. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her family and lifelong friends, Kenny and Carolyn, Tom and Carol and Judy and Bob. Irma loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed holding all the little “pootsies”. Special thanks to the Meadows of Kalida for their care and compassion.
Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday with a scripture service at 1:30 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to a member of the family for charities close to Irma’s heart.
