Irma Navarrete Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Mortuary - Rupert on Jan. 27, 2026.
Irma Navarrete Magana, 65 of Rupert passed away on January 27th, 2026 at Minidoka Memorial Hospital. Born on January 1st, 1961 in Tunguitiro, Michoacan to Consuelo Leon and Jose Magana. She is preceded in death by her mother Consuelo, brother Jose Luis who died in infancy and many loved ones that went before her. She is survived by her loving family; Husband Benjamin Navarrete Sr, Daughters Fany Ruiz (Roberto), Chello Navarrete (Brandon), Lucero Navarrete-Jasso (Ricky) and her only son Benjamin Navarrete Jr (Flor) with 11 grandchildren Noemi Ruiz-Miranda (Luis), Natalie Ruiz, Nayeli Ruiz, Izayiah Ruiz, Lilyana Pena, Evylena Pena, Rudy Adrian Pena, Amri Navarrete, Leilani R, Angelique R, Sophia Jasso, Elena Mia Jasso and 1 great-grandchild Jayden Miranda. As well as several siblings, nieces, nephews and friends she loved dearly.

All that knew her knew how caring, loving and selfless of a woman she was. She was truly the meaning of love. She always had a word of advice and a hug for anyone who may have needed it. The light she brought into the world was indescribable and will be missed beyond measure. Her faith was deeply rooted in Christ and his unconditional love. A faith so large she leaned on her heavenly father through all her struggles, something she leaves to her children.

She grew up in Tunguitiro, Mich, where she thrived in her education then went on to attend college in Comanja, Mich. where she studied being a nurse. She was so proud when her hometown Tunguitiro requested her to come back and be the town's nurse until she met the love of her life Benjamin. He was relentless in her pursuit of her and would travel miles to Comanja which was a 2 and a half hour walk just to see her for 5 minutes before he had to walk back home. That love and tenderness was felt by all her children and grandchildren. A true love story we will remember forever.

You could always find her smiling from ear to ear at the casino. Boy did she have the kind of luck people dreamt of. She enjoyed being in her garden, with her chickens, tending to her various plants, flowerpots and rose bushes; man did she love her rose bushes, they were beautiful just like her. But above everything else she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. There was no greater title than that to her. As her family we will miss those hugs full of adoration, words of wisdom, tender kisses on the cheek and the kind of love you could feel to your core.

We would like to thank all the medical professionals who contributed to her care and the Minidoka Memorial Hospital ICU Unit for her care. In lieu of flowers we request any donations be made to Hansen Mortuary in Rupert, ID or directly to the family to help ease the burden of these final expenses.
