Irma Reyes Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 30, 2026.
Irma Quinones Reyes, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 84. Born on August 5, 1941, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, she lived a life full of love, faith, and devotion to her family and community.

Irma was the cherished owner of a beauty salon for many years before retiring, where she touched the lives of many with her warm smile and kind heart. Her passion for her work was only surpassed by her deep love for her family and her faith.

A devoted member of Herederos Con Cristo Church, Irma found great joy in reading her Bible, worshiping the Lord through music, and sharing her faith with others. She was known for her beautiful voice and the heartfelt songs she sang in praise.

Irma had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, often taking trips to explore new places and enjoy the beauty of the world. She cherished her time spent sightseeing and boating, creating lasting memories with those she loved most.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Irma is survived by her sons, Joehassin Cordero and his wife Julie, and Stephen Cordero; her daughters, Irmari Lespianasse Cordero and her husband Roberto, and Liza Bernice Cordero; along with the rest of her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Jose J. Cordero Alers, whom she now joins in eternal rest and her beloved parents, Arturo Quinones and Maria Agustina Reyes.

Irma's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. Services to honor and celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

May she rest in peace, forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
