Irma L. Stowell, 97, of Ulster Park, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Ten Broeck Center in Lake Katrine, NY. She was born on September 15, 1928, in Glasco, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Rita (Lyons) Rinaldo.
Irma worked as a seamstress for Halpern’s Blouse Factory and the Pocketbook Factory in Kingston, prior to working for Dragon Sports in both Kingston and Saugerties. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU). Above all, she enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
Irma is survived by her children, Elizabeth Pitt of Ulster Park, and John S. Stowell, III, and his wife Ann of Lake Katrine, her grandchildren, Jennifer (Pitt) Keller and her husband Daniel of Ohio, Jessica Stowell of Saugerties, and Jamie (Pitt) Lakin and her husband Brandon of Ulster Park, 9 great grandchildren, Kaylee Jablonski and her partner Cameron, Sara, Phoenix, Ava, Mackenzie, Bella, Ethan, Reign, Tessa, and 1 great great granddaughter, Layla, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son in law, Paul H. Pitt, and all of her siblings.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 3pm to 6pm. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home at 8:45am on Saturday, December 20, 2025, and will proceed to Immaculate Conception RC Church, 467 Delaware Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston, NY.
