Irma Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brewitt Funeral Home, LLC - Exeter on Nov. 2, 2023.
Irma Jean Wright, 78, passed away October 24, 2023, comfortably at her home in Newmarket surrounded by loved ones after a courageous two year battle with cancer. She was born February 2, 1945, at Exeter Hospital, daughter of the late Homer Joseph Landry and Grace (St. Jean) Dufault of Exeter, NH. Irma grew up in Exeter, the 2nd youngest of 11 children. She attended Robinson Female Seminary and later graduated from Exeter High School. Irma worked at the Exeter Shoe Shop for a few years before graduating from The Portsmouth Beauty School and working cutting hair for several local beauty shops. She married Stephen 'Felix' Wright in 1966, the same year they had their only child Scott. Her and her husband liked to go out dancing together, go snowmobiling and was always ready to beat you in a game of skip-bo. She and Felix owned and operated Felix Auto Sales in North Hampton, NH for many years. Irma and Felix resided in North Hampton from 1970 to 1986. In 1986, they moved to Homosassa Florida, where they opened an indoor/outdoor greenery business. After Felix passed in 1997, Irma continued operations for another three years.
She returned to New Hampshire in 2018 where she lived close to her family, most recently residing in Newmarket.
Irma was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and nana. She adored her family and her long-haired German schnauzer, Bailey. She loved shopping at thrift stores and watching 'The Walking Dead.' Her beautiful smile shined brightest during the holiday season, and she would always look forward to its magic and wonderful possibilities.
Her strength, kindness and selflessness made her a woman many were proud to know and love. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her sense of humor that would fill the room with laughter and for the endless love she gave to those close to her.
She has a special place in our hearts.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Homer Landry, Anna 'Kiki' Lee, June Cole, Sonia Landry, Shirley Lord, and John Landry.
Irma is survived by her son and his wife, Scott Wright and Medra Tilton, two grandchildren Kiana and Jake, Irma's siblings Ralph Landry, Lucille Moreau, Maxine Canney, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023 starting at 1:00pm at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Special heartfelt thanks to the Dana Farber Staff and the Rockingham VNA and hospice team, they were so wonderful!
