Irna C. Dupre
Irna Dupre, 86, passed away on October 15, 2025. Irna was a native of Chauvin and a longtime resident of Point-Aux-Chenes. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1237 LA-665, Montegut, LA 70377 on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM-11:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Burial will take place in the church cemetery following the service.
Irna is survived by her loving children Carlene Authement (Dale), Jerry Dupre (Wanda), Danny Dupre (Sherry) and Eddie Dupre (Paula), daughter-in-law, Nancy Dupre, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Carolyn Johnson and Jennie Lee Domangue.
Irna is preceded in death by her husband Alton Dupre Sr., her son, Alton Dupre Jr., grandsons Lil' Jerry and Trinity Dupre, her parents Eddie J. and Azeline A. Chaisson, her sisters Irene Falgout, Jeanetta Lyons, and her brothers Eddie P. Chaisson and Earnest Chaisson.
Irna was a loving mother and grandmother. . She worked many years as a homemaker and cashier at the local grocery store. Anyone who knew Irna knew she loved to cook for her family, and if you went to her house, you were expected to eat. She enjoyed attending the Council on Aging, where she liked to do crafts and visit with friends. She also enjoyed playing Bingo on Friday nights. Irna always made sure to buy the perfect cards for birthdays and special occasions. She enjoyed saving dimes to give to each grandchild for their first birthday.
The family would like to thank the Aspen of Brookhaven and staff for their love and support shown to the family.
