Irving Mindlin Obituary
He was born in Pittsfield, MA on December 8, 1928, a son of Harry Mindlin and Letty (Honikman) Mindlin. He attended local schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School.
Irving was a combat veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army until his honorable discharge as a Sergeant First Class.
Following his military service, he returned to Pittsfield and joined the family business, L.H. Mindlin and Sons where he worked until his retirement. Irving enjoyed dancing, and he and his wife taught ballroom dancing for many years. He also enjoyed square dancing and creating metal sculptures.
Survivors include his wife, Esther (Lehrer) Mindlin whom he married on April 4, 1959 and two sons- Harry Herschel Mindlin of Margate, FL and Brian Alex Mindlin of Sewell, NJ. He also leaves two grandchildren- David and Joshua; one great grandson- Kameron and nieces and nephews. His son, Bruce Michael Mindlin died on June 30, 2013. And Irving's four brothers, Robert,
David, Arthur, his twin brother Herman and sister Irene are all deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for Irving Mindlin will be held on Tuesday October 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery, 1297 Churchill St. Pittsfield, MA with Rabbi David Weiner officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
