Sincere condolences to Mr. Isaac “Redd” Holt family, many, many friends and legions of fans. May Almighty God in the Heavens comfort your hearts with peace and loving kindness as you cope with this precious loss in your lives. Thank you for Mr. Isaac “Redd” Holt's contribution to the jazz music industry. Mr. Isaac “Redd” Holt was the founding drummer with the Grammy Award-winning Ramsey Lewis Trio. They brought much joy from the great music they give too all. He will be truly miss. May family, friends and extended family cherish his memories and his music. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Mr. Isaac “Redd” Holt . May his remarkable music ability as a drummer keep his memory alive forever.

My condolences.

I didn't start getting into record buying until 1972 and did not know a whole lot of the acts prior to then. Yet as I listened to the various radio stations, I learned of songs, performers in of the previous 60 years. Most 45s I bought were released years earlier. Now there are still instrumentals being played, yet some are not identified by the stations anymore.
I had four 45s that Holt played on and only found one Ramsey Lewis Trio album: "The 'In' Crowd".
I learned more about Holt in the obituary than I ever knew before.
