Bro. Isaac "Buddy Green" Nelson was born in Marengo County, Alabama on May 25, 1940. He was born to the union of the late William Henry Nelson Sr. and Emma Green Goodins. He, along with his mother and siblings, later moved to the town of Theodore, Alabama. He was a student at the St. Elmo High School, where he excelled in subjects like Mathematics, until he decided to join the workforce. He worked at several places and mastered a number of skills, but none touched his heart like being a truck driver. Which he did for 40+ years, where he was able to travel all over the United States. He knew the highway & interstate system like no other, he did not depend on a map or GPS system. He served as faithful member of Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church, under the leaderships of Pastor King and Pastor B.J. Parker Sr. In the 1980s, after much thought and contemplation, he moved to Waco, Texas. It was there where he got remarried and wedded Mrs. Caroline Nelson. He joined the St. Stephens Baptist Church in Waco, where he served as a Deacon and in the kitchen ministry. He moved to Waco and quickly made himself well-known. He created many memories for his family and friends, in the back of his home, at Buddy's Place. As he grew older, he decided to move back home to Theodore, Alabama, where he resided until his death. He rejoined Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church in 2016, under the leadership of Pastor Howard L. Nelson Sr. He passed away in his home, after a fun day of fishing, on September 10, 2025.
