In Loving Memory of Isaac Matthew Randall
August 24, 2012 – October 29, 2025
Arriving two minutes before his twin brother - and never letting anyone forget it - Isaac Matthew Randall made his grand entrance into the world on August 24, 2012, in New Haven, Connecticut, to proud parents Edward Randall and Jasmine Wheatley-Randall. From the very beginning, Isaac was a fighter, overcoming multiple surgeries starting at just four days old. He defied odds with quiet strength and a gentle heart.
At only 13 years old, Isaac's life was cut far too short on October 29, 2025. Though his time with us was brief, his impact was immeasurable. Isaac was a beam of light, affectionately known by his mom as her "little sunshine," a title he earned not just for his warmth but for the way he could brighten any room - often with a mischievous grin and a well-timed hug.
Isaac had a quiet charm and a caring soul. He loved red (the boldest of colors for a boy with a bold spirit), lions (because why not be king of the jungle?), and rice and salmon (a refined palate for someone who still giggled at "The Three Little Pigs"). He dreamed of being a zoologist, and his favorite place to visit was the zoo - where he could admire animals and probably plot how to sneak one home.
He was in his fourth year of soccer and had recently discovered the joy of being a goalie - a position that let him kick the ball with all his might and occasionally pretend he was defending the goal from wild jungle beasts. His twin brother Daniel was his partner in crime, especially when it came to tickling fights and car rides filled with music and tree-watching.
Isaac was a budding artist and storyteller, often found drawing animals or working on his masterpiece, Liona and Pig. He had a soft spot for quirky characters like Gretchen from Camp Lakebottom and adored Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom. Thursdays were sacred - not for homework, but for hanging out with friends at Clifford Beers. His best buddies, Daniel and Jeremiah, were always by his side, sharing laughs and adventures.
Nature was Isaac's playground. He collected sticks, leaves, feathers, and mysterious treasures that somehow always ended up in the house. With over 100 toy cars and a fascination with outer space (Saturn was his favorite planet), Isaac's imagination knew no bounds.
He had a special bond with his Aunt Tammie - so special, in fact, that he'd announce his plans to "run away" to her house via tablet. Her home was his second sanctuary, and she was his safe place.
Isaac had a way of getting what he wanted - his parents lovingly admit he was a bit of a swindler, armed with a sweet glare that could melt even the firmest "no." There was never a dull moment with Isaac around, and the house will feel quieter, less magical, without his antics.
This ceremony, and even these words, can't possibly capture the full beauty of Isaac's life. He was fearless, funny, and full of love. We will miss his hugs, his laughter, his drawings, and the way he made every day feel like an adventure.
Isaac, you were our sunshine, our explorer, our artist, our little lion. We love you endlessly, and we'll carry your spirit with us - in every red sunset, every zoo visit, and every stick we find on the ground.
