ISIDRO ROSENALDO HERRERA

Isidro Rosenaldo Herrera at age 84, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Sunday December 7, 2025 in the comfort of his home with his loving family and devoted wife of 56 years by his side.
Isidro attended a trade school in Salt Lake City after high school graduation in 1962 for Drafting and upon returning to New Mexico was hired from the State Highway Department as one of the Draftsmen and Designers for the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge which was built from 1963-1965. Isidro was a self taught musician and his family enjoyed the many Birthday songs celebrated around his guitar. Isidro's passion was woodworking and he had the honor of creating many custom kitchen cabinets, furniture and remodels in many local Santa Fe Homes. His desire for being self employed led him to his truck driving career where he made many hauls for the Los Alamos Labs and local contractors and his Semi Truck became well known as "Pappa Smurf" for its blue color and the fact that Isidro was of short stature.
Isidro is preceded in death by his father - Noberto, mother - Natalia, Sister - Dolores, Brothers - Willie and Antonio. Isidro is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Viola; daughters - Jeanette and Elizabeth (husband, Tono Vigil); grandchildren: Audrey, Cheyenne (partner, Stevie Ray Medina), Marisse and James (partner, Lola Schligman). Great grandchild: Auben and Isidro's beloved sisters Flora & Lydia.
Pallbearers are: James Herrera, Robert 'Tono'Vigil, Cheyenne Herrera, Philpat Gallegos, Gerald Vigil and John Segura.
