Ismini Karras Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Yurch Funeral Home on Mar. 19, 2026.
Ismini J. Karras (née Tsardoulias), born July 3, 1932, in Samos, Greece, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 18, 2026.

Beloved wife of the late John A. Karras, with whom she shared 66 devoted years of marriage. Loving mother of Vaso Karras-Stefanos (Joseph), Liza J. Bosinger (Pete), and Adam J. Karras (Jacqueline). Cherished grandmother of Richard A. (Beth) Wolf, Kristina Wolf and Karmen Klein, Koli (Thomas) Storer, John-Ryan (Quinn) Stefanos, and John A. and Nikolas A. Karras. Proud great-grandmother of John and Maxwell Wolf; Kaia and Leonidas McGuire; Jameson and Kellan Storer; and Yanni and Warren Stefanos.

Ismini married her beloved husband John in Athens, Greece on July 31, 1955. She came to the United States a year and a half later, bringing with her their young daughter, Vaso, to reunite with her husband and begin their life together in America. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ismini built a life centered on family, faith, and tradition. She and her husband worked diligently to establish their home in the United States, embracing the opportunities of their new country while preserving their Greek heritage. Together, they pursued their American citizenship as soon as they were eligible, a milestone they were deeply proud to achieve. Ismini was a longtime member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and remained active in the life of the church and community. She took great pride in ensuring her children were raised in the faith and immersed in their culture, supporting their participation in church and Greek school.

She lived for many decades in Brook Park, where she and her husband built a warm and welcoming home filled with love, tradition, and strong family values. Ismini will be remembered for her strength, devotion, kindness, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the traditions she helped preserve.

All Services at St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 4548 Walling Road North Royalton, OH 44133 on Tuesday March 24, 2026. Visitation from 10 am to 12 Noon. Funeral Service to follow at 12 Noon. Interment at St. Theodosius Cemetery.
