Israel M. Martinez, 77, of Sabinal passed away on October 19, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on April 14, 1946, in Edcouch-Elsa, Texas to Ofelia (Moreno) Mauro Martinez.
He married Alma Lopez in Sabinal, Texas on August 16, 1975.
He is survived by his wife, Alma L. Martinez of Sabinal; daughter, Sarah Martinez of Sabinal; son, Aaron Martinez and wife, Nancy of Uvalde; two brothers, David Martinez of McAllen and Jose Martinez of Elsa; granddaughter, Juliette Martinez of Sabinal; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Noe Martinez; two sisters, Ersela Garcia and Lydia Flores.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 5 p.m.– 9 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment will follow at Sabinal Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Martinez, David Martinez, Jose Martinez, Jr., Leonard Rodriguez, Andres Guevara, Jr., and Johnny Sandoval, Jr.
