Isuko Crotty Obituary

Chako Crotty passed away on October 3rd, 2025.

She was born to Takeme and Fusa Sawame in Towada-shi, Aomori-Ken, Japan on February 19, 1952.

She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and loveliest of humans. She is predeceased by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband Jack, son Daniel and daughter-in-law Monique.

Chako was the bravest woman I've ever known. She left Japan and all she had ever known to come to California to marry her sailor. She didn't know how things would turn out or even if she would be able to build a new life in a strange land. She was the heart and soul of her new family. She built a home that was brilliant, lovely and full of life. Chako made our house our home. In time we had a son and she raised him to be a good man. Chako touched many lives, making each of them better in different ways. She changed the lives of some by adopting them as part of her family,or being adopted by them. She was an amazing chef. To say she could cook belied the truth of the matter. Chako was an artist, her skill with plants was almost magical. She loved her family more than anything else and she did everything to make all our lives joyful.

Chako loved music. Her favorite bands tended to be bands like the Allman Brothers, anything with Michael McDonald or Kitaro, but she loved many other bands. She once had a record collection of over 3000 albums.

Chako loved to travel. Over the course of years, she visited Japan many times. She also went to Hawaii, Mexico, all the western United States, much of the southern United States, Ireland and England. She wanted to visit Sweden, Switzerland and Italy next spring. She was exploring the Fall colors of the northeast United States at the time of her passing.

Chako prayed for her family and friends, both living and deceased every single day. She believed strongly in God and the Communion of Saints and called on them for their intercession in all our lives.

Chako was the brightest of lights, the rarest of gems. She will be missed terribly by her family both here and in Japan. A Farewell Ceremony was held in her home village by her close relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, November 20th at Saint Peter Parish at 100 Francis St, Mary Esther, FL 32569. A Rosary will be said at 9:30 am.

Interment will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery on board NAS Pensacola at 1:30 pm, November 21, 2025.
