Ivan John Cindric
84, of Capac, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born March 15, 1939, to the late Dragica and Milan Cindric in Begovo Brdo, Croatia. He emigrated to the United States as a young man.
Ivan married Barbara Goulet on June 21, 1969, and took a job working for Chrysler as a machinist. He retired from Chrysler after 31 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football (American soccer) and never turned down a chance to head to the casino. He made an amazing sarma (stuffed cabbage) dish, as well as a navy bean and ham soup. He also enjoyed being on the computer, using it to communicate with his relatives back home in Croatia. He loved his family near and far and always had a smile for his friends.
Ivan is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, AnnMarie (Paul) Ottoy; son, Michael (Susan) Cindric; four grandchildren, Zachary Ottoy, Grace Ottoy, Ryan Cindric, and Megan Cindric; and his sister Maria Cindric.
The family honors the memory of Ivan and invites you to visit and share memories Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Kaatz Funeral Directors, 226 Crocker Boulevard, Mt. Clemens. Deacon Bill Stimpson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Michigan in his memory.
