Born in Vicksburg, MS, Ivan was the owner of S&S Used Auto Parts in Oakland, NJ.
Ivan was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He brought joy to our world through his humor, love and caring ways. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He was an avid antique car owner and sailor, spending many weekends sailing on the Hudson. In his retirement years, he spent many hours becoming an accomplished artist.
Ivan is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marilyn; daughter Jean Layton; son Ivan Sanford and his wife Nancy Simon; grandsons Eric and his wife Breann and Daniel and his wife Gabriella; brother Bobby Smith; and best friend "Peanut".
Private arrangements have been made.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ivan's memory to One Step Closer Animal Rescue (OSCAR), 155 Stanhope Sparta Road, Andover, NJ 07821-4901.
