Mr. J.C. Crabb

J. C. Crabb, 78, of Paris, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Crabb, the son of W. C. “Bill� & Ida Westbrook Crabb, was born April 13, 1932, in Lamar County. He was a cattle buyer and an avid hunter & fisherman until his health failed. He loved music, and in the 1960’s he formed the band Westerneers. J. C. was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Willie Ed “Pete� Crabb and two sisters, Mrs. George (Ann) Thompson and Mrs. V. C. (Mildred) Howard. Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Nelson Crabb whom he married on Nov. 8, 1977, two sons, Jack Crabb & wife Sharon of Powderly and Jerry Crabb of Blossom, three step-daughters, Terri King & husband Jimmy of Paris, Jackie Elder & husband J. B. of Commerce and Johnnie Dark & husband Bob of Cumby, grandchildren, Jeff Crabb of Sumner, Jason Crabb of Sumner, Crystal Shondell Crabb of Paris, Crystal Joy Hobbs & husband Conley of Paris, Jennifer Parker of Sherman, Royce Hodges of Paris, Delilah Meuir of Commerce, Brandi Elder of Commerce and Nathaniel Dark of Cumby, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Hugh “Bog� (Bonnie) Wilson and Mrs. Ben E. (Mattie) Hervey, best friends, Eddie Nations, Charles Dillard and Johnny Woodard along with a special niece, Janice Nations. Casket bearers will be: Jeff Crabb, Jason Crabb, Rickey Cockrum, Keith Howard, Jimmy Wilson, Randy Wilson, Jimmy King and Shane Howard. Honorary casket bearers will be: Eddie Nations, Johnny Woodard, Charles Dillard and J. B. Elder.
