I wish to share the regrets and condolences of my family (the Perrys of NKRI) to Billy, Brad and DeLyse, and their extended families, upon the passing of their Mom - following way too soon on the passing of their Dad.

My closest memories of Dr and Mrs Varr (I am 64 years old, but can not get myself to use their first names) center on the early 1970s when our families joined in an annual Christmas holiday at the Woodbound Inn in New Hampshire. Brad and I were of an age and Billy was our elder statesman and Joey Decesare the plucky little brother. The Varrs were the best skiiers and most accomplished boys I had met. We became thick as thieves and Dr and Mrs Varr were almost embarrassingly welcoming and hospitable. How many times did Mrs Varr have us at her table? After one dinner I remember asking Brad about red rice? Where does that come from and why have i never tasted it? He said that his Mom added tomato paste to white rice to make it more interesting. Maybe more telling the family always sat around the table and actually spoke to each other about what was happening in their lives. Mrs Varr set that scene and made it look easy. I remember and appreciate.
