Ja'Nai Evans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Augusta Cremation & Funeral Care on Mar. 23, 2026.
Ja'nai Michelle Evans, age 31, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on March 19, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.

A proud graduate of the Westside High School Class of 2013, Ja'nai was a natural leader and athlete. In her youth, she celebrated a state championship in volleyball and excelled on the basketball court. Her time in the JROTC program instilled in her a sense of discipline and determination that defined her character. With a heart for service and a deep love for children, Ja'nai had aspired to join the United States Army and pursue a career as a Pediatrician.

Known for her bright spirit and kind heart, Ja'nai had a gift for connecting with others. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend who brought joy into every room she entered. Her compassion was most evident in the way she cherished and adored the children in her life.

She is preceded in death by her father, Riccardo Jay Evans; her grandmother, Michelle Scott; and her uncle, Duane Evans.

Ja'nai leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Yolanda Lowery; her siblings, Kristy Evans, TyKeisha Lowery (Anthony), Jayde Evans, Tyra Evans, and Riccardo Jay Evans Jr.; her beloved nephews, Dyson, DeKlon, Jasper, and Dimitri; and her cherished niece, DaKoda. She also leaves behind close cousins Keith Robinson, Tatiana Robinson, James Lowery, Zana Ogden, and Shemar Morton, along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
