Jack Albinson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by M. John Scanlan Funeral Home - Pompton Plains on Feb. 18, 2022.
John "Jack" Albinson, 80, of Pompton Lakes, passed away on February 16, 2022.
Jack joined the United States Army in 1962 and proudly served overseas in Germany, achieving the rank of SPC 5 Sergeant before transferring to the Reserves in 1965. Before leaving for Germany, Jack married Patricia DeGeorge and the couple enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Jack was a hardworking man who had a long career in sales, retiring from Mahaffy and Harder Engineering Co. in 2012. Soon after, Jack became a school bus driver for First Student for over five years.
Jack was a true "Jack of all trades". He was supportive, generous, and always there to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed sharing his talents and he was the "go to" man for the construction needs of his friends, neighbors, and family.
Jack and Patricia enjoyed time spent at their shore house in Little Egg Harbor where Jack could be found boating, fishing, crabbing, and jet skiing. He had an interest in current events and politics and a deep knowledge of history, especially the US Armed Forces. There were many activities Jack enjoyed, but nothing made him happier than time spent with his family.
Jack is survived by his wife, Patricia; his sons, Derek and his wife Eva and David and his wife Stephanie; his brother, Robert; his grandchildren, Chase, Collin and Gavin; and his beloved cat, Sullivan. He was predeceased by his siblings, Arthur, Muriel, and Marjorie.
Family and friends may visit from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 20 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. during the visitation. Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Monday at the Northern NJ Veterans Cemetery, Sparta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Jack Albinson's memory to The Valley Hospital's Hospice Care program by visiting www.ValleyHospitalFoundation.org/give and selecting "Hospice Care" in the "Designation" pop down.
