It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Charles Aldrich, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and a dedicated veteran. Jack was born on October 19, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, and he placed every ounce of his remarkable spirit into everything he did throughout his life. On April 15, 2025, surrounded by love, Jack passed peacefully at home in Kingsville, Texas, leaving behind an enduring legacy of affection and dedication.
Jack proudly served in the United States Navy, enlisting for six years where he achieved the rank of Tradevman, Second Class Petty Officer, serving at the training department of Naval Air Station Kingsville. His dedication extended beyond active duty as he became a “C” level Aircraft Flight Simulator Maintenance Technician, continuing his service for a total of 43 years until his retirement on June 30, 2022. He took immense pride in ensuring that the T-2C, TA-4J, and T-45 simulators were maintained in perfect condition for the Navy's Student Jet Aviators, earning respect from peers and superiors alike.
Jack’s passion for life was evident in his love for spending weekends at Lake Corpus Christi with his family. He reveled in sharing his love for water activities, teaching his grandsons to wakeboard, ride jet-skis, and drive boats. These moments by the water marked some of his happiest memories, illustrating the deep bond he held with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Wheatley Aldrich, alongside their adoring daughters, Jessica Ann (Jay) Bryand and Jennifer Anne (Orlando) Moya, their son, Jack Nathan (Erica Brown) Aldrich, and his brothers Joseph (Nancy) Aldrich and Richard James (Karen) Aldrich. As a devoted father and a revered “PaPa” to eleven grandchildren, Jack's love for his family was the essence of his being. He created countless joyful memories, particularly during weekends spent on the shimmering waters of Lake Corpus Christi, where he shared his love for wakeboarding and jet-skiing with his children and grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John Virgilio Aldrich and Emma Roman Aldrich, along with his son, John Roman Aldrich.
A visitation will be held on April 23, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM.
