Jack Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Keplinger Funeral Home on Mar. 7, 2026.
Jack Anthony Brown, 68, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at 7:15 a.m., surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Jack was born on January 4, 1958, in Muncie, Indiana. He spent his life as a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in caring for his family and the space around him. Jack retired from General Motors after 22 years of service, where his strong work ethic and reliability reflected the kind of man he was.

Jack was a passionate sports fan who rarely missed cheering on the Chicago Bears and proudly supported the Indiana Hoosiers. He also had a deep love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed the freedom that came with riding. In his younger years he played intramural basketball and throughout his life enjoyed bowling, playing video games, and immersing himself in science fiction.

Above all else, Jack was a loyal and devoted family man. He would do anything for his girls and for the many friends and family members who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication, and the deep love he carried for his family.

In August of 2022, Jack was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer that had already spread to his brain. Despite the odds placed before him, Jack faced every challenge with determination and grit. He was the hardest fighting man, with absolutely no quit in him, and his strength throughout his journey was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Shelley; his daughter, Ashley; his brother, Larry; and his lifelong best friend of more than 50 years, Dusty Kraus, whose friendship meant the world to him.

In accordance with Jack's wishes, there will not be a ceremony. A celebration of life will take place in the warmer months, where those who knew and loved him will gather to honor and remember the life he lived.

Jack's strength, loyalty, and love will never be forgotten.
