Jack Donald Chambers, loving husband of Sara "Pat" Spearman Chambers for 75 years, passed away peacefully, on January 12th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, dedication, and deep love for his family.
Jack was born on March 12, 1932, in Westminster, South Carolina, to the late Arthur Lemuel Chambers and Minnie Cox Chambers. He served faithfully as the Plant Manager with Dandee Flowers Bakery, where he built a reputation for strong leadership and integrity. Following his career in manufacturing, he went on to found and operate Jay's Pest Control, which he successfully owned and managed for many years. Both businesses were located in Florida. After retiring from his pest control business, Jack and his wife returned to South Carolina, where they enjoyed their later years.
During his youth, Jack was a standout athlete and natural leader. He proudly served as Captain of the Football, Baseball, and Basketball teams at Westminster High School. His love for sports continued throughout his life, and in retirement, he remained an accomplished scratch golfer, a testament to both his discipline and passion for the game.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, Gregory Donald Chambers (Carol) of Valdosta, Georgia; daughters, Donna Lynn Martin of Westminster, South Carolina, Jan Zeigler (Gary) of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Kimberly Jo Merrick (Michael) of Crystal River, Florida; and his half-sister, Alice Waldorf. He also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by his brother, James Charles Chambers, and his half-sister, Janie Yates.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
