Jack L. Daniels Sr.

Jack L. Daniels, Sr., 79, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, died Saturday, November 3, 2012. Jack was born May 19, 1933 in Elba Township, son to Maxwell and Julia (Lukacs) Daniels. Jack graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1951. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree, his master's degree and his specialist degree from Michigan State University (he was one year shy of his PHD). He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Jack married Shirley Walker on June 7, 1959 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lapeer. He worked in the family business, Daniel's Roofing for many, many years as well as holding a teaching and an administrator job at Lapeer County Vo-Tech. Jack enjoyed the outdoors. Jack is survived by his wife, Shirley Daniels of Lapeer; son, Jack (Shelly) Daniels, Jr. of Lapeer; granddaughter, Ashley Daniels of Lapeer (& Kalamazoo). Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and his cousin, Jayne Graham. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday, November 5, 2012. Jack's funeral service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer, Pastor Todd D. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lapeer, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paradise Animal Rescue or Love, Inc., both of Lapeer.
