Jack Duane Davis Sr., 63, of Harkers Island, North Carolina, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
A funeral service to honor Jack’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, December 22nd at Harkers Island Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by Rev. Wesley Holmes and Brother Anthony Nelson. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Born on March 14, 1962, in Morehead City, NC, Jack was the son of Jack and Vera Mae Davis. He was a faithful member of Harkers Island Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Jack had a deep passion for cars and motors, which was reflected in his career as an automotive repair technician specializing in body and paint repair. He graduated from Carteret Technical School with degrees in Diesel and Welding, allowing him to pursue his love for the automotive industry. And of course, with his love for cars, it was no surprise that he was an avid NASCAR fan.
Jack enjoyed fishing and had many happy memories of fishing trips with his granddaddy. He was a devoted son and an extraordinary father who cherished his family deeply.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his son, Jack Davis Jr. of Harkers Island, NC; mother, Vera Mae Davis of Harkers Island, NC; brother, Mark Davis of Harkers Island, NC; close friend and former wife, Sannie Gillikin; and his cuddly cat, Wildcat.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Jack Rogers Davis and brother, Gerry Davis.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Harkers Island Pentecostal Holiness Church, 803 Island Rd., Harkers Island, NC 28531.
