Jack J. Davis

"1930 – 2017" Candler – Jack Joseph Davis, 87, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late John Burgin and Anna Lorene Hendrix Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Penland. Jack was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Carolina Power & Light Company in 1988 with 40 years of service and was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna Dee Herren Davis; two sons, Scott Davis and wife, Deborah, of Clyde and Stuart Davis and wife, Lavon, of Stoneville; three grandchildren, Joseph Dean and Lee Ann Davis and Sarah Elizabeth Rheins; and one great-granddaughter, Eleanor Jean Albrecht. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Snow Hill United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dianne Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army. The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
