Jack Gauger Obituary

Jack L. Gauger

VERNON - Jack L. Gauger, age 77 years. Resident of Vernon, WI, and formerly of the Lake Geneva Area. Passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Jack was born on September 18, 1947, in the Town of Geneva, WI, to Lester and Adeline (Amborn) Gauger.

He married the love of his life Marilyn Hathorn on September 16, 1967, in Elkhorn, WI.

Jack retired after 43 years as a tool and die maker at Capital Engineering (Mercury Marine).

He was an avid sportsman spending time fishing, hunting and trapping. He loved being outside tending to his huge field-like garden and loved to putz around with whatever needed a little putzing. Jack was a longtime member of the Wisconsin Trapper's Association.

Jack is survived by his wife; children, Greg Gauger and Angie Gauger; sisters-in-law, Doris Gauger, Mary Jean Gauger, Cyndie Hathorn; and brother-in-law, Billy George (Clara) Hathorn. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Lesly Gauger, Gail Gauger, Rob Gauger, Peter (Becky) Gauger, Brian and Paige (Gauger) Beck, Amy Hills (Greg), Christopher Hathorn (Jenny) and Krystal Matamoros; and other relatives and many dear friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence Gauger and Frank "Babe" Gauger.

Visitation will be held at the Lazarczyk Family Funeral Home, 515 Center Street, Lake Geneva, WI 53147, on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with funeral service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Bob Kamps officiating. Burial to follow at Hudson Cemetery in Lyons, WI.
