Jack Hill Obituary

Jack Richard Hill

1942 – 2022

Our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jack Richard Hill, passed away at Beehive Homes of Draper Utah on September 21, 2022.

Jack was born on September 26, 1942, to Keith Warren and Betty Thelma Watts Hill, and raised in Gunnison, Utah. He moved with his parents and three sisters to Sandy, Utah in 1956, and graduated from Jordan High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Newbold, on January 28, 1961. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and many other sports. In 1965 Jack became a Deputy Sheriff with the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, where he had an enormous positive impact on many lives. He retired in 2001 after serving his community for 36 years. He was an inspirational example to his three sons, as well as many of their friends. He enjoyed every moment with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His hugs were legendary.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Keith Warren Hill and Betty Thelma Watts Hill.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Elizabeth Newbold Hill; sons, Michael (Rosalind), Westley (Sharla), and Courtney Hill; sisters, Barbara (John) Callahan, Debra (Don) Buckley, and Diane Anderson; grandchildren, Whitney (Andrew) Hegstrom, Jordan Hill, Dalton Hill, Garrett Hill, and Aspen (Andrew) Kafentzis; and great-grandchildren, Anaya Hill, Emma Hegstrom and Quinn Hegstrom.

We appreciate the strong support of family and friends, and the staff of Beehive Homes who assisted in his care during his final days.

A visitation service will be held in Jack's honor on October 3, 2022 from 6 to 8 pm at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 S. 700 E.
