Paula, we were saddened to learn of Jack's passing. We pray that God will provide you needed comfort in this difficult time. Jack was a wonderful leader and a loyal, true friend.

Holbein Family,
It's a common theme, but shows how uncommon Gen Holbein was. He was an ultra-capable leader and a very caring man. To this day I remember his fun-loving and humble style.
He made life at LRAFB feel like one big family.
Like all who met him ... I respected him much and will miss him.

I knew Jack Holbein when he was a Lt Col at Pope AFB NC extremely nice man!!! He tried his hardest to get me out of an assignment but wasn't able to. He did take care of my family while I was gone

I served in the 41st as a Navigator with then Major Jack Holbein. He was a dedicated professional and patriot and I am glad to have known him.RIP Sir

I am so sorry to hear of General Holbein's passing. I had the privilege of being his flight surgeon back at Pope, unfortunately for only a few months before Gen Powell grabbed him for his exec. One of my regrets was not going to see him at the Pentagon when I was at Andrews after Pope. He deserved all his accolades. I felt he cared about me as a squadron member, even thought I was only the "doc." My thoughts are with his family in this time of sorrow
