Alfred Jack Iles, 94, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 23, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.
Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Wally Vinson officiating. Burial will follow at Sango Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Jack was born on December 12, 1929, in Alexandria, LA, son to the late Edward and Ina Gibson Iles. He was a member of Excell Baptist Church and Pineville Park Baptist Church travel club. In addition, he was a member of the Ajax Senior Center where he enjoyed volunteering. He enjoyed making memories with his family while traveling and camping in his fifth wheel. Jack loved sports, and his favorites were the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, and Tennessee Vols. His hobbies throughout life included gardening, woodworking, participating in craft shows, and reading. Jack had a passion for World History and George Washington. One of Jack’s greatest achievements was that all his children and grandchildren received a college education.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Harry Iles.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 63 years, Mildred Ann Oliver Iles; son, Richard Iles and his wife Lori; daughter, Patricia Russell and her husband Mark; grandchildren, Nathan (Brittany) Russell, Emily (Quyen) Nguyen, Mary-Margaret (Chase) Culler, Katelyn (Jacob) Lister, and Harrison Iles; great grandchildren, June Nguyen, Margaret “Margo” Russell, Milo Jack Nguyen, and Eleanor “Nora” Russell; siblings, Lucille Stone, Ethel Perkins, Caroline Aycock.
Pallbearers will be Nathan, Harrison, Quyen, Chase, Jacob, Richard, and Mark.
