Jack King Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cox Funeral Home - Manchester on Jan. 7, 2026.
The family of Jack Wayne King is grieved to announce his passing on January 5, 2026. Wayne was born on June 18, 1943 to Sim and Virginia King. He was born and grew up in Pine Mountain, Georgia. After high school he attended technical school and earned a certificate in electronics, which was a gateway to his future career. Wayne was drafted during the Vietnam war and served his country honorably. In 1969 he married Gloria Ann Pickard and moved to Conyers, Georgia, where they lived for many years and raised two daughters. Wayne went on to earn an Associate's degree from Dekalb College. He worked in the telecommunications industry for forty-two years, including time with Southern Bell, AT&T, Bell South, and ITC Deltacom.
In his private life Wayne enjoyed fishing, golfing, and working with his hands. Wayne always needed a project, so he planted vegetables and flowers and kept his bird feeders full. He enjoyed traveling within the U.S and had many adventures, from Alaska to Yellowstone, New England to the Mississippi River and beyond. He was a devoted father and grandfather and an active member of his church.
Wayne leaves behind his loving wife, Luanne Prophet Speet. He is mourned by his daughter Karla Ozuyaman, granddaughter Annabelle Ozuyaman, daughter Rachel, son-in-law Radi, and grandson Ali Nabulsi, and brother Raymond King. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ann King, brother Warren King, and sister Jenny King Meadows.
Funeral services for Wayne will be held on Saturday January 10th at Roosevelt Memorial Church in Pine Mountain Valley. Visitation will be held in the fellowship hall at 11am, with the service following at noon. After the service interment will be at Pine Mountain Cemetery in Pine Mountain. In memory of Wayne donations to Roosevelt Memorial Church or flowers are equally appreciated.
