To the Family of Jack Levine,
I'm really sorry to hear of the passing of Jack Levine, he was the artist I most admired. My wife and I had the honor of meeting him a back in 2004 or 2005 spending the afternoon with him in a restaurant in San Francisco. We took some pictures, and had a few drinks, and he was gracious enough to autograph one of his books that I had brought along. Her told me that he has been working on a painting for the last twenty years and was having problems with painting the lion. I would never have imagined that Mr. Levine would have any problems painting, but I guess even great Masters as he do have problems painting at times.

It was a great honor getting to know Mr. Levine in person, and a sad day for me hearing of his passing.

Respectfully

To the Levine Family. When my brother and sister and I were young, our Father Jerry Friedman, of Pittsburgh Pa.,a lifelong political activist, periodically spoke of Jack (fondly). Apparently, they were stationed together on Ascension Island early on in the war. They were fellow progressives. I believe that they worked on a GI Newspaper together and they may have actually organized a bit of a bargaining unit amongst enlisted men.Our father was shipped out to Rio, but I believe that they remained in some contact during and after the war, before losing contact. I wonder if Jack ever spoke much about his days on Ascension Island because it is a bit of a mystery to me. Our Dad died in 2004 at 88. We are sorry for your loss and happy to hear that Jack lived such a long and productive life. Please feel free to be in touch at [email protected]. The Friedman Family

Susanna and family
Sorry for your loss. I was surprised to see the obituary since we lost contact so very many years ago. How fortunate that your father survived for a long life. A blessing and a reward for a life well lived. Sincerely, Gerrie Whittington from TGA days. ([email protected])

To the Levine family,

We are sorry for the loss of your loved one. May the comforting words from family and friends continue to strengthen you, and the fond memories of your loved one continue to provide comfort to you.

May you find comfort also in God's promises found in the last book of the Holy Scriptures. "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
