Jack Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Linnemann Funeral Home - Erlanger on Dec. 20, 2025.
Jack Melvin Miller, age 84, of Crestview Hills, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025.

Jack was born on July 30, 1941, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Milford and Mary Miller (née Leisure). From an early age, he embodied determination, integrity, and a tireless work ethic-qualities that defined both his professional legacy and his personal life.

Jack enjoyed a remarkable career in the building industry, retiring as Senior Vice President of Marketing for Drees Homes, where he was widely respected as a visionary leader and strategic thinker. His influence extended far beyond his company, shaping the homebuilding industry at both the local and national levels. He served as President of the Home Builders Association of Northern Kentucky and the Home Builders Association of Kentucky, and as Chair of the National Sales and Marketing Council of the National Association of Home Builders.

Throughout his decorated career, Jack received numerous honors, including Builder of the Year from the Northern Kentucky Home Builders Association, a Community Service Award from the same organization, and the prestigious Donald M. Wiedeman Lifetime Achievement Award-recognition befitting a career marked by excellence, service, and leadership.

Despite his professional success, Jack's greatest pride was his family. He was devoted beyond measure, always putting family first-no matter what. He shared a beautiful 60-year marriage with his beloved wife, Jean, affectionately known as his "California Girl," as a reference to his favorite band the Beach Boys. Jack adored his grandchildren and never missed a game, recital, or play, showing up with unwavering love and support.

Jack found deep peace and joy at the family farm in Owen County-a place he considered a safe haven for generations. A proud "weekend farmer," he loved his land, his dog, and the simple rhythm of farm life. Those who knew Jack well will fondly remember his trademark response when asked how he was doing: "Perfect in every way."

A proud United States Marine, Jack lived by the creed "Once a Marine, always a Marine." His patriotism extended well beyond his service. He was a passionate history buff who loved sharing historical tidbits with his grandchildren-often handing out pocket Constitutions and instilling in them a deep appreciation for country and civic duty.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Jean Miller; his sons, Adam (Michelle nee Glasmeier) Miller, Brian (Amy nee Branham) Miller; his grandchildren, Hannah, Emaline, Rosemary, Hopestill, Kaylyn, Wyatt, Marshall, and Hudson; and many other extended family members.

Jack never truly slowed down. His outstanding work ethic followed him home, and he was rarely one to sit still. His energy, presence, and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on January 6, 2026, at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, Kentucky, with visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., followed by a service at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Enzweiler Building Institute (2751 Circleport Dr, Erlanger, KY 41018).
