Jack Moody, a beloved figure whose life was marked by laughter and resilience, passed away peacefully at home in Huber Heights, Ohio on November 25, 2024, at the age of 88. He was born on February 24, 1936, in Glouster, Ohio, to Carl Sr. and Thelma Moody.

Jack was a proud veteran who honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps. His dedication to his country reflected his steadfast character and commitment to those he loved. A man of many skills, he held a variety of jobs throughout his life, earning a reputation for being able to do just about anything with his hands.

Known for his stubbornness and remarkable sense of humor, Jack had a joke for every situation, bringing smiles and hearty laughs to those around him. He was a devoted dog lover, and his cherished companion, Old Redford, brought him immense joy. Jack had a mischievous side and was known to sneak snacks, often found with a snack cake tucked away in his robe pocket for later enjoyment. He drank his coffee black, believing it was the way it was intended to be savored.

In his younger years, Jack had a passion for fishing and spent time coaching baseball, sharing his love of the game with others. His life was enriched by the many friendships he nurtured and the family he adored.

Jack is survived by his loving son, Tim (Kathy) Moody, and a vibrant lineage of grandchildren: Chris, Christina, Rebecca, Brianna (Jonathan), Todd, Carrie (Chad), and Kimberly (Jimmy). He took great joy in his 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, who filled his life with love and laughter. He is also survived by his brothers Carl "Junior" Moody and James Moody, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Jack was preceded by his beloved wife of 61 years, Betty Moody; his daughter Jacquline Leonard; and great-grandchildren Sam and Emily. He also mourned the loss of his sisters, Carleen Isble and Gloria Cooper, as well as his brothers Carl "Butch" Moody and William "Bill" Moody.

Jack Moody will be remembered for his indomitable spirit, his love for family, and the laughter he shared with all who knew him. His legacy will continue through the many lives he touched, and he will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2024 from 12-4pm at the Wright Van Cleve House, 5281 Bellefontaine Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.
