Jack ONeill Obituary
Jack cherished the time he spent with his family. He made every effort to support all of his children and grandchildren at their games, competitions or meets. He liked to take his family to breakfast and enjoyed the summers he was able to spend with them in Wildwood. Walt Disney World was also a treasured place for family vacations. A proud Army veteran, Jack served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. He continued his dedication to the military as a member of the Board of Directors of the Veterans Multipurpose Center. Jack's dedication to his family would have been enough for most men but his commitment to his community was unmatched. He was a soccer coach at St. Joseph Prep for 36 years as well as at Lighthouse Soccer Club where he was also on the Board of Directors. He was a member of the North Catholic Hall of Fame and the EPYSA Hall of Fame. He was also a member of Roofers Local 30 and remained active with the union after his retirement.
Beloved husband of Marie "Ree" (née Riebow). Cherished father of Jack (Diana née Gagliardi), Anthony (Christina née Crosson), Greg (Jill née Borski) and Tina (Scott) Gumienny. Devoted grandfather of Haley, Jack III, Aidan, Evan, Angelina, Ava, Liam, Lily, Patrick, Abigail, Charlotte, Brielle and the late Catherine. Loving great-grandfather of Scotlyn. Faithful son of Antoinette (nee Caputo) and the late John ONeill. Dear brother of Eileen (Lenny) Stolarski.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday February 27, 2024 from 5 - 8 PM at T.J. Fluehr Funeral Home, 11010 Knights Rd. Phila. There will be an additional viewing on Wednesday February 28, 2024 from 10:15 - 11:45 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church - HORSHAM, 321 Witmer Rd. Horsham PA 19044. Funeral Mass 12 Noon. Rite of Committal Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's name may be made to Norphans www.norphans.org P.O. Box 11856 Phila, PA 19128. Jack who was both a good coach and life mentor for my three sons at Saint Joe´s Prep. His candid and direct approach gave them someone who they could trust for guidance. For us as parents, I always had a time to chat about the match and provide insights regarding our individual signs. My wife and I appreciated Jack´s caring mentorship.

Jack was a sterling example of how veterans continue to serve their community after service to their nation. I served with Jack on the VMC and out paths crossed through our involvement in veterans affairs. He was a staunch supporter of the Philadelphia Vietnam Memorial, reflecting I'm sure the highly unusual three tours in Vietnam. When Jack did something, he went all the way. Rest in peace, my friend.
