Obituary published on Legacy.com by White Funeral Home - Lakeville on Aug. 20, 2025.
OSTEN, JACK P. Age 84 of Elko New Market MN passed away with his family present on Aug. 9th, 2025, after a courageous 3-week hospitalization. He was born on June 29th 1941 in Milwaukee WI to Ervin and Marie Osten.

At the age of 18, he enlisted in the National Guard. He married Marilyn Mick on Sept. 2nd 1961. Six weeks later, he was called to active duty for one year. He served at Fort Lewis in the state of Washington. They moved back to Milwaukee and lived in WI for a total of 36 years. They moved and raised their two children in Eagan MN, living there for 12 years. They then moved to Kansas City, MO living there for 25 years. Following retirement at the age of 70, he and Marilyn moved back to MN for the last 11 years of his life. Jack held many positions within the internal audit function (data security) for several corporations over his business career.

HIs hobby was model railroading (HO gauge), and he was an avid reader. He restored his red Cadillac convertible in the 90's which he was very proud of. He loved playing cards and games with family and friends. He also enjoyed warm weather vacations.

Preceded in death by his parents, son, Kurt, and brother Lee. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, wife Marilyn, daughter Kelly Gueldner (Paul), sister Maureen Zmudzinski (Barry), and many cousins, nieces, and nephew.

Jack was confident in his Christian faith and is now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.

I will always remember Jack and Marilyn´s wedding... it was the first one I ever went to and definitely one of the best! It´s hard for me to recall a time when it wasn´t Jack and Marilyn. He will always live on in my memories as being a soft spoken gentleman.....a nice guy. Forever remembered, forever missed. May fond memories bring peace, support, and strength today and always.
