Jack Ryan Parrigon, age 17, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 25, 2025, after a courageous nearly three-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love and prayers of those who knew him best.
Jack was the cherished son of Joe and Sara Parrigon and a devoted brother to Kole Parrigon. He shared a special bond with his Uncle Rocky Rhea and his faithful cat Ruby, who was always by his side.
Jack was a Junior at Pierce City High School, where he excelled both academically and personally. He was a proud member of the National Honor Society, FFA program, and a saxophone player in the Eagle Pride Band.
A true enthusiast, Jack had a deep passion for Apple technology, contemporary worship music, rollercoasters, waterparks, and yard inflatables - collecting well over 100 inflatables that became a joyful signature of who he was. You would often find Jack sitting on his swing in the front yard listening to worship music and enjoying his yard inflatables. His energy and excitement for life were contagious, while his smile and laughter lit up every room he entered. He was witty, tender-hearted, and loved to make those around him laugh. Jack did not let his battle with cancer defeat his spirit he lived and loved big.
Jack was an active member of First Baptist Church of Pierce City, where his faith was the cornerstone of his life. His legacy is one of unwavering belief - a constant reminder to all who knew him that there is nothing God cannot do.
Jack is survived by his parents and brother (Kole). His grandmother, Caroline Parrigon, aunts and uncles Frieda James (Chris), Brenda Kennedy (Marty), Jimmy Parrigon (Debbie), Linda McNeely (Brian), Sandy West (Steve), Rocky Rhea, and Jonathan Rhea (Sarah), and many loving cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carroll and Shirley Rhea, and his grandfather, James Parrigon.
Though his time with us was far too short, Jack's spirit of joy, strength, and faith will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. "Where there is deep grief, there was great love."
A celebration of Jack's life will be held to honor his remarkable journey and the impact he made on so many on Saturday, May 3rd at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Pierce City. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. before the celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Worship Ministry at the First Baptist Church of Pierce City. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.
