Jack Paul

July 31, 1928 - March 15, 2023 Jack Paul, a respected Husband, Dad, Grandpa, lawyer, and member of the Jewish community, passed away at the age of 94 on March 15, 2023, in Los Angeles, California. He was born in Boyle Heights on July 31, 1928, to parents Ida and Maxwell. He lived his life never forgetting where he came from, and he took great pride in his self-made journey from BH to BH (Boyle Heights to Beverly Hills).
After completing his undergraduate studies at UCLA, Jack pursued a law degree at Stanford Law School and wrote for the Law Review. He then earned a Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard Law School. Jack embarked on an award-winning legal and teaching career that spanned 64 years, dedicated to his passions for government contract law, education, and philanthropy. He served on the Beverly Hills Board of Education for nine years, among other leadership and civic positions.
Jack began his career as a lawyer for the US Air Force and later opened his own law practice. Stories of his career were always told with a light in his eyes. As Jack would say, he was in the right building.
An internationally recognized expert in government contracts, Jack remained a fixture in the education and legal communities well into his 80s, attending conferences and events, and mentoring young lawyers.
Jack is survived by his soulmate and wife Amy (to whom he referred with love as his 'cupcake'), his children Nancy, Steven, and James, his daughters-in-law Gisele and Wendy, his stepson James, his stepdaughter-in-law Denise, and his grandchildren Rebecca, Tyler, Ariana, Daniel, Kayla, Jared, Samantha, Sydney, Jacob, Michael, Brianna, and Annabelle. He is missed, and forever beloved.
Jack will be remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues as a brilliant legal mind, a generous mentor, and a devoted family man. 94 years somehow feels too short.
