Jack C. Peeples

I first met Jack on the Sun Oil tanker "Eastern Sun", in 1958.
We stood the same engine room watch - he as the oiler and I as the fireman.
Our quarters were not air-conditioned, and the heat in Summer during our Texas trips and, as I recall, one 108-day trip to the Persian Gulf, India, Japan, California, Panama, and back to Marcus Hook, PA, made sleeping off-watch difficult. Jack was a conscientious watch-mate, and very knowledgeable. Glad he continued on to reach Chief Engineer rank, and wish I'd tried to establish contact earlier, as I still live in Jacksonville.
