Mr. Jack “Shot” Dempsey Justice, 84 of Gibsonville passed away unexpectedly at his residence. He was a true definition of a family man. Shot was known to many as someone who never meet a stranger, an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, attending NASCAR races and any type of sporting events, especially those of his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours supporting Eastern Guilford athletics and the community. He devoted 68 years as a volunteer firefighter at the McLeansville Fire Department. He was also a founding member of the McLeansville Wildlife Club, having served as President and was instrumental in upgrading the BBQ pits.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee Justice and Virginia Moss Justice; brothers Moyer Justice, Coy Justice, Red Justice and Bobby Justice.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cathy Probert Justice; his son Danny Fleming and wife Wendy, daughter Jackie Justice and wife Grace; grandsons Hunter (Samantha), Brennan and Gavin Fleming; great-grandchildren Lanie and Wrenley; siblings Jesse Justice, RL Justice, Diane Watkins and Duke Justice; step-sisters Marie Louise Thomas, Dot McKinney, Jeanette Apple  and Louise Jefferson.

Services will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 5120 Burlington Road, Greensboro, NC. at 2PM, officiated by Rev. Allan Van Meter. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12 -1:45PM in the church CEC. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Eastern Guilford High School Athletic Booster Club 415 Peeden Dr. Gibsonville, NC 27249.
