Mr. Jack P. Sluder

Jack Pierce Sluder, 88 passed away May 19, 2011 in Barstow. Jack was born September 26, 1922 in Indianapolis Indiana. He served in the US Coast Guard aboard the USS Mills during WWII. After the war, he married Donna Gilliland on December 14, 1946. They moved to Barstow with one son, John on Thanksgiving Day 1950. He was employed at the Marine Corps Logistics Base, retiring in 1977. After retirement, Jack took up the game of golf and enjoyed playing at Sun and Sky for many years. He always had a joke to share with family and friends (He just told them, he never explained them). He was known as Pap-paw to his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierce and Ethel Sluder, Son, John and infant daughter, Cynthia.
