Jackie "Jack" Mont Smith, 87, of Morgantown, Indiana, entered his heavenly home on October 24, 2025, at Brown County Health and Living in Nashville, Indiana. Born on November 1, 1937, in Nashville, Indiana, Jack was the son of the late Mont and Meriam (Clupper) Smith.
Jack proudly served his country as a Private in the United States Army. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career as a truck driver, retiring after more than 30 years on the road. In his later years, he cherished spending time at the Bill Monroe Music Park & Campground.
On August 27, 1981, Jack married the love of his life, Beanna (Morgan) Smith, in Virginia. He loved the Lord deeply and was a member of Greasy Creek Church and This Is That Church in Morgantown, IN. His devotion to his faith and his family was at the heart of everything he did.
Jack had a wonderful sense of humor and a love for having a good time. He enjoyed sharing stories, laughing freely, and bringing joy to those around him. His presence could light up a room, and he found so much happiness simply being with the people he loved.
An avid Indiana University and Indiana Pacers fan, Jack rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his teams. He especially enjoyed traveling, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, listening to them sing, and simply being surrounded by his family and friends-his greatest joy in life.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Beanna; his sister, Bonnie (Smith) Miller; and his children: Mike Smith, Tim Smith (Rachel), Donald Asher (Trina), Teresa Simpson (John), Susie Reed (Daniel), and Theresa Swafford (Nicki). He was immeasurably proud of his 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Goldie (Smith) Walls and Connie (Smith) Ashmore.
Visitation will take place from 1-2PM, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at This is That Church in Morgantown, Indiana. Pastor Randy LaVere will officiate the service to celebrate Jack's life to follow at 2PM.
Jack's life was one filled with faith, hard work, and endless love for those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
