Jack Thompson

Jack Thompson, 88, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021.


A celebration of life will be held at the Church of Christ at The Colonies at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jack fought long and hard for forty years against some very painful health problems. We know he is now at peace.

Jack was born on November 3, 1932, to Johnnie and Estelle Thompson. He received degrees from North Texas University, Albuquerque University, and Waldon University. He served two years in the Army during the Korean War. His pleasure in life was to teach Sunday school and coach young people. He was very active in church and community affairs. He served thirty-four years on the AISD School Board. He retired from Pantex.

His fondest memories were the years spent with his grandchild, Paityn.

He was preceded in death by a son, Greg, daughter-in-law, Lisa; his parents; and a brother.

He is survived by his wife Marlene, son, Lance, three grandchildren, Paityn, Dustin, and Maici; one brother; two sisters.

God knew you, Jack.
